Description
'Proteor' Fodder Cabbage is a hardy and very productive variety destined for animal feed (rabbits, cattle, sheep). It produces uniform leafy stems that can grow over 1 m in height. This INRA selection is particularly rich in nitrogen, calcium and phosphorus.
Sow in a seedbed from March to May, transplant 6 to 8 weeks later. Alternatively, direct sow in July-August (30 g of seed per 100 m2). Harvest the leaves as and when required, from September to late March.

Planting and care
Sowing:
Sow in a seedbed from March to May, transplant 6 to 8 weeks later. Alternatively, direct sow in July-
August (30 g of seed per 100 m2). Allow 60 cm between each plant and 50 cm between each row.
Cultivation:
Fodder cabbage thrives in rich, moist, slightly clayey soils. During the growing season, apply complete fertiliser if necessary to encourage head formation. Water and weed regularly.
